🇳🇱 Greetings stranger! 🇳🇱
Welcome to my Vinted account. I sell lots of things that I no longer want or use. I used to collect and fix old Nintendo consoles, so you might still find some of these on my account too!
If you are having problems with your DS and need advice, I'd be glad to give some for free.
➡️ I am not a shop, just a person ⬅️
That means I mostly sell items that have been used. I'm an honest seller and buyer. If something is wrong with the product, I will mention it in the advertisement. I do expect you to look at the pictures and read the title/description before you buy it. After all: that is what they are for. And you'd want to know what you buy, right?
As seller I:
🔹️Answer questions honestly;
🔹️ Wrap products safely;
🔹️Ship once a week most of the time.
As buyer I:
🔹️ Have no hurry, no need to ship quickly;
🔹️ Take max. 7 days to pick up a package;
🔹️ Leave honest reviews.
Honest reviews mean that a product like described gets a good review and a product not like described gets a bad review. It might seem obvious, but for some reason, a few people expect a 5-star review after lying about what they're selling.
~~~~~~~~~~
👉 What you might want to know as buyer 👈
🔹️I do no longer do reservations, as they mostly end up expiring (people lose interest but don't communicate this). I'd rather give everyone the chance to buy it.
🔹️Please remember I am not a shop, just a person. Not everything I sell is like new. If it is new, it will say so in the condition and description. If not, then it has been used. That means the console is no longer new. If you buy something, I do expect you to have informed yourself by looking at the pictures and reading the description and conditions. Asking me is ALWAYS an option!
This also counts for additional products. Everything I include in the purchase is on the pictures and in the description. If I include a charger or stylus, I will mention this. If they aren't mentioned, that means they are not included. If you have doubts, just ask me!
🔹️You are entitled to your opinion concerning my prices. However, if you do not like my prices, there is no need to share that opinion or disappointment with me. I know what my items are worth. If I am wrong, too bad for me. Is it too expensive? Look elsewhere :)
🔹️Very sometimes (it only happened 3x in the 500+ times I have sold Nintendo's), an item is claimed to have an issue. Vinted has this rule that the buyer pays for a return label. This is a rule I stick to, as in the past I have been lied to for a free return of an item.
🔹️Once you buy something, I expect you to be able to pick it up within 7 days. If you miss this deadline, the package gets sent back and the transaction is cancelled. The buyer gets refunded, but I have a chance the package gets lost on the way back. This means every time someone does not pick the package up, I am at risk of losing my package and my money, as Vinted doesn't refund completely depending on the chosen delivery company.
Sp to put it simple: You buy, you pick up. Buyers that do not pick up their package will get blocked.
🔹️Some people try to get my sympathy by putting personal details in their messages. Don't get me wrong: I'd love to talk! However, not if the reason behind these messages is to have me go out of my way to meet their goals. Examples are birthdays. The item they want to buy will be a birthday gift, and they either have a budget or they need to have recieved it before a certain date.
These messages are just shared with me to have me either lower my prices or to have me rush to drop it off at a package point. Whatever is going on is unfortunate, but I do not see what it has to do with me. Because:
➡️ If the price is too high, maybe look for it cheaper elsewhere. I know what it's worth, so I am not lowering it.
➡️ If the item is needed quickly, Vinted is the wrong place to look, as shipping requires time. If the search/purchase was done earlier, the rush could've been avoided.
✨️I hope it's clear that these messages will not impact my actions. However, if you just want to get anything off your chest, please do feel free to message me. We can talk about anything and I will be there for you.✨️
👉 What you have to know as seller 👈
🔹️My expectations are not high. I will always communicate, but if you don't, that is fine too. I do however expect items to be like described and wrapped and shipped properly. Wrapping a breakable item in a simple envelope with one layer of bubble plastic is not well packed. If someone were to throw it on the floor, the item would still get damaged. If it gets shipped like that, having it damaged is a risk the seller is willing to take.
If the item breaks, that means I get a full refund and possibly have to ship the now broken item back to the seller. This means I will waste money on a return label and the seller will receive their item back broken and no compensation. So let's just pack items properly and dodge these simply avoidable issues, okay?
A cardboard box with filling is always good. Wrap items so that they're soccer-proof!
⬆️ Update ⬆️
It's a shame proper communication is so hard for some people, but that did lead to the following: if you can't be nice, you will be blocked.
For example:
As Vinted-user I might like your product as it interests me. It does not mean I will buy it. In the past there have been people who felt the need to scold at me for not buying their product after having liked it. I did not download Vinted to be insulted for liking items, so if you can't be nice then you can't talk at all. 🤷
❗️ Watch out for the following sellers❗️
Unfortunately Vinted barely takes action against scammers or very rude and dishonest people. As reporting these people always results in an automatic Vinted-message saying "We could not take actions", I felt obligated to warn you about the following people myself:
@snorbax54 (protected by Vinted)
I have no personal experience with this seller, but he deliberately puts advertisements of "original" Nintendo consoles online that in fact are not original at all. Reporting it to Vinted does not help and he asks a lot of money as he is claiming the consoles to be branded.
This is where Vinted also is a scammer:
Within a minute of me reporting the advertisement as fake, Vinted said that "after careful consideration" they couldn't take any actions. That means it is an automated message. They do not even check to see if the claim is legit. What they do do?
They allow items to get officially certified if the buyer pays an additional €5!
So the only way Vinted will stop scammers is if you personally pay them to do so.
@VintedSupport
Yes, Vinted can be a b*tch too. Obviously they are here and meant to help, but they can and will do whatever they want nonetheless. I have too many examples where Vinted purposely allows scammers on Vinted, including the ones mentioned above and below in this list.
Besides allowing scams, they never read issues properly. For example: I once asked Vinted about when I coukd expect a USP employee to show up for pick-up of a package. They did not reply for 3 days, then a few minutes after the UPS person showed up, they said they would cancel the order. I told them to stop right away and read before poorly taking actions. "My hands are tied" seems to be their basic response after that.
I had to literally remind them of Vinted's own terms of agreements before they decided to look into the issue instead of saying they can't do anything for me. In the end I never got an answer to my question, instead I almost ended up with no package or money thanks to poorly educated 'help'-center employees.
There also have been times where they'd simply refuse to answer questions up to a point where they would literally rather ignore you than answer. I am not talking about some hard risky questions, but a simple question of why certain items are not allowed, when there is a literal category created by Vinted that refers to that type of item.
Maybe they did not have an answer and their ego got in the way of answering honestly, but you can be sure to encounter such childish acts as ignoring too.
My advise is to NEVER refer to a specific purchase, as they will most likely just cancel whatever is going on without reading your actual problem. I guess they think if they cancel the order they cancel the problem? Lol.
@suuslemmens1512
Looking at her reviews you might think: Oh? Seems fine? Well she is very greedy and can scam you if she pleases. I purchased multiple items from her and she "forgot" to ship certain items along with it. After i asked her about it, she told me she would ship me the missing items on her costs (which would be around €5). As I trusted her words, I completed Vinted's transaction and she got her money. I had waited a week without hearing from her, so i asked her about the tracking code. She told me the DHL-point was closed for vacations but she would ship it the same day as she messaged me. Another week goes by and no reply. I planned on asking her again, as it had been two weeks again, but it turned out she blocked me!
Yes, appearantly she had too much pride to admit she was too greedy for spending €5 in order to keep her promise.
Do not trust or buy from her! If she makes a mistake, it is your problem to deal with! She won't do anything except lie and block you!
@sb.gui05
What he did: He sold me two Nintendo's for €70. I asked him before purchase if both items worked well. He told me yes, however, upon recieving them, both turned out to be broken. He told me I should not complain as I resell nintendo's and I could sell them for more.
I know two broken Nintendo's aren't worth €70, and besides that poor excuse: he lied about the articles. He told me I could return the products, and I told him I wanted him to purchase a return label, as he was the one who tricked me into buying them. I wouldn't have bought them otherwise.
Instead of responding to this and trying to solve the issue by talking like adults, he blocked me. You can still find his review to me around 07-2022 and see for yourself how he tries to justify his strange behaviour. He even lied by claiming he mentioned the Nintendo's did not work, proving he knew exactly what he did and how it is not okay. Strange how he claims he mentioned this in reviews (for outsiders to see) but he does not even try and talk to me personally to solve this issue he caused. I call this kind of person a poor excuse of a man. He will do anything for money!
@Naomierme
What she did: After I bought something, she lied about not having it anymore. Though it was odd, as she had uploaded it a few minutes before, I told her I understood and that, in that case, she could cancel the purchase. She told me it was my job to cancel it.
I know Vinted would give an automatic bad review if I cancelled my purchase, so I made clear to her that, as she advertised something she suddenly "does not have anymore", it was on her to cancel the purchase. She told me she didn't know how, so I explained to her in detail how to cancel it (it's done within 3 clicks).
She read but didn't reply. Then she repeated I had to cancel. I made clear to her I was not going to cancel anything. This might sound petty, but I was sure she was lying to me as you do not just put an advertisement up if you do not have the article. Plenty of times people have cancelled a purchase on me because they wanted to sell it for more money. This was no different.
After three days, she 'suddenly' knows how to cancel the purchase, blocks me, and puts the same advertisement online for more money. Not to forget that she told Vinted the reason why the purchase was cancelled was because the buyer (me) was no longer interested.
If I learned anything from this lying seller, it is that she prefers to lie to keep a good (fake) reputation for herself. This seller can not be trusted!
▪️Have you noticed so far the only people in this list are people that don't have a healthy relationship with their pride and ego? And they keep coming:
@Hayemaia
After purchasing from this girl, I sent her a message saying: 'Thank you! I'm looking forward to them!'. She did not reply, but straight away cancelled the purchase without a word and blocked me. I have met a lot of people being strangely unkind, but this was someone with a serious responsibility problem. No excuse, just straight up blocking me to put it for double the price. Makes me wonder how these kind of people were raised if they can't even communicate...
@Fabio7900052
This person sold me a Nintendo, claiming it worked well. You guessed it: it didn't. The screens were completely broken. 'Coincidentally' he did not show the screens in the advertisement. As I have been fixing old consoles for a while now, I can tell how certain damages occur. The kind he sold to me, occurred by hard pressing on the screens themselves. He however put the blame on the delivery company.
This guy was perfectly aware the DS did not work, as the battery was still working when I recieved it and therefore still worked when he 'tested it' and realised the DS was broken.
Usually I try talking it out, but this time I knew he did this on purpose, so I blocked him right away. Whatever he had to tell me was not going to give me my money back or make me believe him. It seemed to be the right thing to do, as this dude replied to my negative review saying that I should not have expected anything more for that 'low price'. This guy never heard of honesty, responsibility or fairness. He would rather try to justify his wrongs than grow a pair and take it like a man. Major narcissist. DO NOT TRUST!
@Aghyad6863
What he did: After buying the article, this person told me he needed my personal information like my phone number and email. I know there are pro-sellers on Vinted, but they already have access to this kind of information as registered shop. In fact: If official shops are not registered as pro-seller, they could get in trouble with the police.
I asked the seller why he wanted my informations and he just worked around the question.
I told the seller he did not need my email and explained step by step how to ship the item, as I thought maybe he just didn't have the knowledge. This person told me he would not ship the product without my personal information. After a fourth time of me saying no, he cancelled the order and blocked me because I would not share my informations with him.
I reported him to Vinted, but Vinted did nothing to protect other buyers from this person as it was 'not against any rules' and he might have misunderstood the way things work on Vinted. Very poor excuses Vinted makes once again to keep yet another harrassing account on their app. Firstly, I explained how it worked on Vinted, so that excuse falls apart. And the fact he blackmails you for personal information is insane. Anyone can fall for that and get scammed and Vinted says nothing is wrong here? Harassment and protection from Vinted. You saw it here first people.
@Melvindelannee
What he did: Nothing. Literally. After the purchase, I thanked him in advance. He did not reply. After a few days, I asked him if he would manage to ship it in time (7 day dealine before automatic cancellation). He read it, no comment. After that, I asked him in a friendly way to communicate, as from the start, I have been the only one sending messages and I have asked questions. Read once again, no comment. On the last day, I asked him why he was doing absolutely nothing. Why he couldn't just communicate. After all, he just sold me something. The least he could do is communicate if he can not ship it or not, especially when he plans on not doing so. The next day, the payment gets cancelled as it took him too long. Chat is blocked now, but damn what a weird being was that. It's like having a 'for sale' sign on your house and just watching people ring your doorbell without acting on it. Just don't sell then. It's not that difficult.
@Saafirf
What she did: After the purchase, she said she'd ship it the same day. The next day, she promised it would not take another day to ship. After day 5, I asked if she'd manage in time. She promised me she would ship it before Vinted would cancel the purchase for taking too long. Next day: Nothing. I asked her when she planned on shipping it. No reply. Later that day, I noticed she did read everything, so I asked her why she kept stalling. I am not in a hurry to have it shipped, but if I'm told multiple times it would ship a certain day, I put trust in these words. Can't make it? Then don't tell me you will. I asked nicely, no reply. Again, she read it all. After the purchase was cancelled, I tried one last time for communication, but in vain. Unless you like being kept on the hook and being ignored: Do not buy from this seller!
@Peperene5150
Checking the reviews it seems like he does not belong in this list, but what happened will convince you otherwise: After purchasing from him, I thanked him, no reply. After two hours, he randomly cancels my payment. No message or whatsoever to explain his actions (not even a simple apology for cancelling). I asked him why he cancelled it, and he didn't reply. However, he put the same advertisement online for more money.
I asked him again later, which he again ignored. I told him communication would be welcome. Nothing.
I can understand someone wanting to sell something for more money, but I can't understand what goes through their mind to just ignore/neglect a person. These are the kind of people that grow into the parents that give kids the silent treatment. Strange seller and definitely a big fat stonewaller.
@Nora99
This person messaged me and seemed very friendly. She asked me if I wanted to trade a Nintendo, as she had a white one and wanted a pink one. She told me she could travel by train to exchange the consoles and showed me the console. She explained it has some damages but works completely fine, so I agreed on exchanging it for a console in the same condition but in a different color. After the exchange, I noticed the touch screen had an issue as it was not calibrated and could not be calibrated somehow (this is a very common screen issue with the DS Lite).
It is my mistake for not checking right away, but also hers for lying about the conditions.
I messaged her, letting her know the Nintendo turns out to be in worse conditions than she told me. She read my message and did not reply. My guess is that if she genuinely did not know about this issue, she would have at least felt like an apology was in place, as I have done extra efforts to meet her and help her out. As she ignored my message, I am a 100% sure she knew perfectly well the DS was faulty, which is why she wanted to exchange it for a new one. Be careful. This person might seem nice, but she is a wolf in sheepskin.
@Hllne-59
This person seemed really nice, but will give out fake promises whenever she likes. I had bought an item for 30 euro's, which she had not shipped after 5 days. She messaged me saying she is too busy with work as she works in a hospital (I wonder if that is true), and that she did not have the time to ship it yet. She suggested to cancel the purchase and then put it up again to get more time to ship it. I agreed and asked her to reservate the new advertisement for me. She cancelled the product and put it online for double the price. I messaged her, asking if she could make it the original price i paid it for, which she read but ignored. Half a day later I decided to send her an offer of 30 euro's, as maybe she just forgot to reply. Again, she read it but ignored the message. She however had not blocked me, which makes me believe that she planned on selling it to me if she was not able to sell it for more in time. However, it does not feel nice to be treated like a back-up plan. She had promised me she would reservate it for me. If she thought it was too cheap, she could have told me so and I would have understood. Instead, she lied to me, saying she would sell it to me again and then repeatedly ignored me when I asked her to keep her promises. After a day of being ignored I decided to send her a message that explained how I felt and then I blocked her. Half a day later she sent me an offer for 30 and reservated the article for me, which is nice but too late if you ask me. You could still have a nice experience with this seller, but I definitely did not. I just hope she treats the people at the hospital better than she treated me.
@Elif_tas42
Telling the truth is hard nowadays. This person sold multiple items, which I asked to turn into a bundle to save shipping costs. She gladly agreed and I purchased the items. After a few minutes, she cancelled my purchase, telling me she did not have one of the items. However, to Vinted she said she was not at home, which is a whole different reason of cancellation. Then I checked her account, and guess what? All items were put back online. However, one of these items was now made double the price!
I would have totally understood if she were to cancel my purchase to catch more money for the items, but what I can't understand is how she would rather lie to me about this than just be truthful. We would have had a fine conversation if she told me honestly she wanted more money for the items, but the fact that she chose to lie about it places her on this list of non-trustworthy sellers on Vinted.
@fran-prix_du_31
This one is a bit different than the ones written above. I did not buy anything nor did this person insult me. She did however try to scam me. This person was selling a Nintendo DSi XL for €499. I saved it by liking it. As I barely sell the same console for €55, I just saved it to keep an eye on it to see the price drop at some point. Instead, I got a message from this person. She said that she already had gotten an offer of €600 so if i wanted to offer even more she would sell it to me. If €499 really was such a good deal, people would've bought the product instead of offering even more. Thats why I am sure this person just lied trying to get even more for something that isn't worth a quarter of the price. Usually I do not block people if the conversation is kept formal, but in this case I have reasons to believe this person deliberately lied to try and scam someone for more money. The product might work, sure, but there is no way someone willingly offered 600 for this. Be careful and don't fall for it.
@Games1610
This is my boyfriend's experience, not mine, but I feel forced to mention this seller in this list. My boyfriend purchased Warhammer items for over €100. The seller seemed nice, until my boyfriend recieved the package. Turns out all those tiny plastic pieces ended up loose in the cardboard box. The seller claims he put it all nicely inside a small box and wrapped everything well, but all items were put in the box loosely with two crumbled up pieces of newspaper in a corner. When the package was revieved, the bottom was loose and pieces were falling out. The person at the desk even told us that box arrived broken, so pieces probably fell out on the way already. Once we confronted the seller, he got passive agressive, saying he wrapped it well. He showed a picture of the inside, proving how little he protected the items, claiming it was well wrapped, and a picture of the top with the label, saying he used enforced tape. The 'enforced' tape was just hobby tape and he only used 10cm pieces of it at certain spots of the box, basically not holding anything together. After we told him half of the pieces were missing upon arrival, he started to claim we were scamming him to sell the items for more. We asked if he could keep the conversation formal and told him if everything arrived well, we would not be making a problem out of this. It is the fact that we paid over a €100 for something that he did not even bother to put inside a plastic bag to keep it together, or wrapped in bubble plastic to protect against hits. And that arrived partially because the rest got lost during transport due to the poorly wrapped package. After Vinted told us we could ship it back, this seller told us we better wrap it well and send everything back. It sounded like he was treathening us because he did not want us to ship the package the way he shipped it. Don't buy from this person unless you want to recieve broken/half of what you bought and then be blamed for it...
